Cloche Floral Card
Hi there, Christine here with an A2 sized card featuring a floral cloche setting featuring the Blooming Bunch stamp & die, the Tall Dome Shaker Die and the A2 Quilted Cover Plate die. I love having a delicate background that is either tone on tone or very subtle and the vellum with the quilted background creates just that- enough interest, but it causes the recipient’s eye to focus on the main image.
First I die cut the quilted panel out of Neenah 110lb solar white cardstock with the Quilted Cover Plate die. I die cut a smaller stitched rectangle with a die I had in my stash out of blue vellum that I also had in my stash. I die cut foam and an aqua piece of cardstock with the Tall Dome Shaker Die containing both die pieces inlaid, whereas I cut a piece of acetate with only the outer large dome die. My original intention was to create a shaker card, but often during the process, I will change my mind. I decided against the making the shaker because I thought the shaker pieces would be too distracting for the card.
I die cut the bouquet and copic colored it will all the colors you see in the above photo.
Flowers: R00, R20, YR24, YR21, Y21 and YR30
Leaves: G46, YG67, YG61 and BG10, BG11 for the eucalyptus branch
I added black marks for the sunflower with my black glaze pen and gold dots with Nuvo gold Crystal Drops. I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the different shades of aqua/blue I had in my stash before deciding on the 3 tones that I ultimately chose. I decided to not make the floral bouquet fit neatly inside the dome. I really like how it looked with the leaves poking outside the cloche, even though it doesn’t make any sense in real life, but art gives us creative license to do that, doesn’t it?
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
