Shark Bait: One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily M.

Hi Friends! Emily @popsofpaper here today sharing three fun water-themed CAS cards using the Shark Bait 4×6 Stamp Set. There are so many cute images in this set but the sentiments are absolutely punny!

For all of my cards, I used a yellow, teal and gray color scheme. I colored the images using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers in the Green Turquoise, Blue Turquoise, Jade Green, Ice Blue, Coral, Citrus, Brown and Ice Gray. I also had fun sneaking in a little seashell embellishment on all three cards.

Hey Chum, Let’s Do Lunch

I wanted it to look like the cute diver and friendly shark was approaching the water surface so I placed all of the images at the top of the card pane. I used my favorite ocean/water theme Stitched Waves die set to add a few dimensional water elements. I added bubbles and a seashell embellishment for a little extra pop.

Hope To Sea You Soon

I used circle nesting dies to create the porthole frame from both white card stock and a piece of teal vellum that I had in my stash. I cut a circle from a white card panel and adhered a piece of acetate as the porthole window. Then I added in the coral, water foliage and seashell embellishments along the bottom of the porthole. Then I placed the shark so it looked like he was swimming by just to say hi. All of the images were adhered to the back of the card panel with glue dots or tape. For the final touch, I added Lilypad Opal Sheen Confetti Mix around the porthole.

SUBone is Missing You

The submarine image in this set is so plump and cute that it is just asking to be turned into a Yellow Submarine. For my card to come together, I first cut a piece of teal vellum using the largest stitched rectangle die from the 4-Bar Card Die Set. Then sing a few verses of “Yellow Submarine” as you arrange and adhere your colored images to the vellum card panel.

Tip: For no-show glue under vellum, I find that Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive works best for me. I also hide glue underneath images and dimensional pieces when using vellum.

So there we are friends, three cards using the adorable Shark Bait Stamp Set. I hope you enjoyed my ideas today and it inspires you to stretch your stamps in fun new ways. Big Paper Hugs!

Emily
