Rainbow Encouragement Cards

Hello, crafty friends!! I hope you are staying sane during these crazy and uncertain times!! Crafting is therapeutic and helps me escape the real world for a bit!! I have five cards to share with you today!! They all highlight illustrations created by my friend, Dani Bondurant, from Love, Dani!! Dani’s illustrations are always so uplifting and encouraging…two things that we really need in the world right now!!

Let’s get started!! This is a photo heavy post, as I wanted to show each card individually, along with a close-up.

I white heat embossed all of the stamped images onto Bristol smooth cardstock and watercolored them with Zig Clean Color markers, then die-cut them with the stitched die in the Slimline Frame and Fold Die Set. The backgrounds were created with Marabu alcohol inks and isopropyl alcohol on Yupo paper. The die-cut panels were popped up onto the background with foam adhesive.

This one features the Not Alone stamp set. 

The background was created with alcohol inks and isopropyl alcohol. Marabu has a rainbow alcohol ink that creates an awesome iridescent shine!

The Funfetti Love Sprinkles were the perfect embellishment for this one!!

Awesome Human is the focus of this one! How appropriate would this be for all of the healthcare workers right now?

For the alcohol inked background, I used an old trick that I learned from Jennifer McGuire. I adhered felt to the straight edge of a protractor, then added the alcohol ink in rainbow order, along with the rainbow ink and isopropyl alcohol. The curved edge of the protractor makes the perfect handle to swipe the alcohol ink soaked felt back and forth across the Yupo paper.

Next up is Folded Hug!

I used the same process with the protractor for the background, but added more isopropyl alcohol, so the result is lighter. I few pink hearts from the Funfetti Love Sprinkles finishes off the card!

I wanted to add a bit of shine to my watercolored images, so I diluted a little bit of the rainbow alcohol ink with isopropyl and painted it on with a paint brush. This gave me just enough shine and matched my backgrounds perfectly!!

Whew!! That’s a lot of cards and pics!! Thanks for hanging out with me today!! I’m off the put these cards in envelopes and send them off to some friends who could use some encouragement!!
