Happiness is Snail Mail!

Hi guys and welcome!

This is our mid month Trinity Creativity Challenge post, meant to drum up a little more inspiration to join in our brand new challenge! If you missed the first post, click RIGHT HERE to check that out.

Our theme is ‘Snail Mail’ and how fun is that? Sending snail mail is such a great way to show someone you care and think about them. How about challenging yourself to sending at least one card a week to a friend?

For my project to day I wanted to make a card that actually said ‘Happiness is Snail Mail’, because let’s be honest, it really is. Finding an unexpected envelope in the mail box is just the best! So much better than boring bills and rubbish ads, right??

The Succulent Banner is simply perfect when you want to add in a sentiment but still keep a card one-layer. Plus you can either go natural colours for the succulents or just go nuts with colours!

On a card base I stamped the succulents in black, Copic friendly ink and then started to colour them all in.The cacti I kept quite natural, with green colours and added some white gel pen to them for extra highlights.

The succulent flower and the cacti flower I made vibrant red, and then added some gold highlights. It’s possible I went a bit cray-cray with the gold gel pen but oh well.

Those ‘branch-ey’ succulents I made quite dusky lavender-grey, which is more natural colour for succulents and I love how the colours worked together. These also got white gel pen highlights.

To be honest, I’m not sure what those hanging leaf branches would be in nature. Probably green-ish, really but I went pink and added gold details to these too.

With the N0 Copic marker I added some light shading on the banner. Then I stamped ‘Happiness’ on the banner, from the same Succulent Banner stamp set. The ‘Snail Mail’ is stamped under the banner, this is from Mr Snailman. Then I added ‘is’ with gold gel pen instead of stamping it.

Now, that’s it from me for today but I can’t wait to see what you will come up with! In order to link up your own projects and to check out the rules, you will need to go to the first post. Click HERE to check it out. There are prizes to be won too, of course!

Thanks for stopping by today and please do play along, we would love to see what the challenge inspire you to create!

Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
