Sprinkles, Candy and Cake: One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily!
Hello Friends and welcome back to this week’s One, Stamp Three Ways! I’m so excited to share with you a trio of celebration Shaker Cards! It’s a change-up with the focus this week on Sprinkles & Rock Candy confetti and the Celebration sentiments from the Decorate-A-Cake stamp set. I love all the Sequins and Sparkles in the shop!
Project Tips
- I don’t usually make Shaker cards—-if you never made one—-don’t worry there are great videos out there. My tip is that before you create a shaker card, watch a couple Shaker card videos. Each one I watched had great tips and tricks. This is a note to self to learn how to make process videos 🙂
- To create three projects at a time, I always look for a theme or process that I can do multiple times. For the shaker cards, I selected three primary shapes (Heart, Star & Square—for a present) that could layer together in the same pattern on each card with the sentiment placement near the bottom edge of the card base.
- For the sentiment, you know all those small strips of paper you end up with from trimming A2 cards for 4 x 5.25 card bases…I save all those scraps to create sentiment strips. I keep a sentiment strip scrap drawer next to my craft table, so I can grab and stamp on different colors from my stash.
- To adhere the sprinkles to the shapes, I added a piece of Stick it adhesive to white card stock and then die cut the nesting shape. This provided a full adhesive layer to add the sprinkles.
The Heart—Happy Anniversary Card
The Star—Congratulations Card
The Present—Happy Birthday
Not having a specific die to make a present, I used what I had…square dies. I die cut two squares and cut the top of one square for the box lid; then I covered it with rainbow washi. I lost my bow die (found it several days after making this card—-love how that happens) so I created my own “crinkled” paper bow with two strips of paper, bone folder, glue and more patience than I can find in a day :-). Then I added scattered sprinkles to the present and some Nuvo sprinkle dots in between. For the shaker, I placed a piece of sprinkle paper behind the acetate after adding the rock candy confetti.
So there you have it friends, three Celebration Cards with the Decorate-A-Cake stamp set with lots of Sprinkles and Rock Candy confetti! I’m so excited to add these interactive cards to celebration packages. Have a great week ahead and I’ll see you next week!
