Mix it Up Monday & Halloween Cupcakes!

Hello Friends! Happy September and welcome to this month’s Mix it Up Monday! This week is all about Halloween Cupcakes and Sprinkles! Try not craving a little sweet frosting after this yummy post. I’ve been on the hunt for Candy Corn with no luck yet but I can get my hands on yummy frosting.

For my card and tag today, I used the following supplies:

Candy Corn Cupcake

If you saw my previous Halloween Mix it Up Monday Candy Jar Post, you’ll know I’m one of those crazy people that LOVES Candy Corn so of course I needed to make a Candy Corn Cupcake Treat Card Set Too! To create the Halloween Cupcake card, I stamped the Cupcake image from Sweet Surprise and colored it with Copic Markers (Chocolate Cake: E27, 25; Frosting: YR01,02,04; Wrapper: BV23,25,29) and a white gel pen. Then I added some yummy sprinkles from the It’s Kinda Corny embellishment mix with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I masked the “Let’s” from the Celebrate sentiment and stamped it with VersaFine Clair Ink in Summertime then fussy cut the sentiment. I adhered the Decorated Cupcake and Celebrate Sentiment with foam adhesive to the stenciled background. For the background, I used the Layered Confetti Stencil and a sponge dauber to add Halloween Party Colors in Orange and Purple. Then for a little extra pop, I added little clay Candy Corn Images to the confetti and Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops. To complete the card, I adhered the stamped and stenciled card panel purple cardstock.

Spooky Halloween Cupcake For You!

When I saw I had an embellishment pack called Halloween Cupcake…I had to decorate another cupcake but this time with Purple Icing! To create the Halloween Cupcake tag, first I die cut the tag from the Narrow Card and Book Mark Die Set from white card stock. Then I blended Wilted Violet & Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Inks to create a custom background color and added little white polka dots with a white gel pen. For the cupcake, after stamping the cupcake image from Sweet Surprise, I colored the image with my Copic Markers (Cake: YR01,02,04; Frosting:BV00,01,02,04; Wrapper: N3,5) and a white and silver gel pen. Then I added sprinkles from the Halloween Cupcake (the little bats are too stinkin cute!) and Candy Carving embellishment mixes with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. For a little extra pop, I added little dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Crushed Grape. For a little extra sparkle, I added some Nuvo Glitter Drops in Orange Soda to the cake portion of the cupcake. Then I adhered the Cupcake to the tag die cut with foam adhesive, added the “For You” Die Cut in Orange Card Stock and added black/orange twine top of the tag. YUM!!

So there we are friends, a Yummy and not too Spooky Halloween-Themed Cupcake Card and Tag set. I hope you enjoyed my post to day and it inspires you to use your stamps, stencils, dies and embellishments in fun new ways. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
