Luck of the Irish

Hello, Trinity friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a very lucky leprechaun. He’s surrounded by lots of love and happiness today. My husband’s grandmother (Ms. Estella Dwyer) came straight from Ireland and the entire family is very proud of its Irish heritage. My family roots are Swiss so they give me a hard time every March! I will be sending this card to my father-in-law to celebrate his heritage. 🙂

I’m using the following Trinity Stamps products for this card:

Falling For You stamp and die sets

Nested Hearts die set

Rainbow Die Set (I used the Funshine Rainbow Set that was free with purchase in December 2021, but either set works!)

Copic Coloring

To create this 5″ X 7″ card, I used 80lb Neenah Solar White cardstock for the card base. Next up, die cutting and coloring…

  • I die cut the rainbow and colored it using the following Copic Colors in this order from top to bottom: R14, R24, YR14, YR68, Y08, Y19, Y38, BG11, BG23, V04, V09. I also added faux stitching down the middle of each color.
  • I stamped the Falling For You leprechaun gnome image and colored it in using the same colors of the rainbow for the hearts and also using E000, E00, E11, E04, C9, C7, C6, C3, C1 for the face/hands, shoes and beard.
  • The leprechaun’s striped hat was colored using YG67, YG17, YG03 and YG00.

Card Assembly

To create the large four-leaf shamrock, I die cut four green hearts for the individual leaves using the smallest heart in the Nested Hearts die set. As noted in the photo above, I followed steps 1, 2 and 3 to prepare the leaves for assembly. NOTE: I added my adhesive to the left sides on the back (different than my photo that shows the right sides) so that the left sides pop up on the card front. Either way works!

To assemble the card, I adhered the rainbow to the card base, assembled the shamrock below it on the left, attaching only one side of each leaf to the base and folding the unattached leaf to make it pop up. I also hand cut a simple shamrock stem to add to the card and shaded it using YG67, YG17 and YG03.

The die cut leprechaun image was attached right below the shamrock using two-side dimensional foam tape to make it stand out a bit. I tucked the leprechaun up under one of the leaves as if he is shaded by it. Colorful sequins were glued in place under the right side of the rainbow as if the rainbow is dripping colorful happiness!
