Hi Everyone, Mirella with you here today.
As you probably know by now, Trinity Stamps are one of the Sponsors of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers 2020 Fall/Winter Blog Hop. You still have a few days to enter, and be eligible to win some amazing prizes. And, of course, have fun whilst at it!
I am still trying to add some cards to my Christmas themed stash, hence I put my thinking hat on, and had a browse through my Trinity goodies. And then an idea came into my head… It’s a frosty morning, the snow is falling, Mr Rabbit is having a walk around the forest, he’s holding a nice warm cuppa to prevent his cute little paws from getting too cold… and as he’s walking along, he comes across this gorgeous sparkly tree, and so he decides to sit next to it for a while, to admire it, whilst sipping his coffee…
The magical sparkly tree was a breeze to create, using the awesome Layered Pine Tree stencil set (if you’re sad that the Tree of lights layering stencil set is currently out of stock, the Layered Pine Tree one is definitely worth checking out! I know it’s a different style, but it’s equally fun to create with!). The Blending Buddies always make stencilling easy peasy, especially with the narrow tip!
I don’t think I have to tell you anymore how much I adore the Dir-Tea Bunny, and so I was delighted to be able to feature him on my Christmas card. His coffee mug makes me giggle, as I am not sure if “Hot stuff” refers to the beverage, or perhaps Mr Rabbit himself? (by the way, the “hot stuff” text comes from the Monster Love stamp set, in case you’re wondering!).
I must tell you, as I was putting the card together, something was missing on it for me, and I couldn’t quite figure out what that was… And then it hit me – I needed more pops of red! The tree got some delicate berry-like decorations (using these embellishments), I white heat embossed the sentiment (from this stamp set) on some red cardstock, and… perfection! Just what the design needed!
To finish the card, I splattered it liberally with some white and metallic paints, for the snow effect. A nice kraft card base seemed like the right choice here. I must say, I am really pleased! I look as smug as Mr Rabbit with his coffee cup!
Will you be joining the coffee fun?
As always, you can find all of the products I used over on my blog.
Until next time,
