Forest Friends: One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily M!

Hi Friends and Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We spent our weekend out at the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful day of getting lost in corn mazes, pulling red wagons and picking the best/great pumpkin from the patch. I always look for the tallest, my daughter the funniest and my husband is the traditionalist finding the perfectly round and just big enough pumpkin. In celebration of all things Pumpkin…I have three cards using the Forest Friends stamp set that has the cutest pumpkins, wagon and leaf designs. For the sentiments, I used the cute and coordinating 3×4 Autumn Sentiments stamp set.

Happy Pumpkin Spice Season

First I stamped all of the pumpkin images, starting in the center of the card and “rounded” the corners on the bottom and the top. Then I started stamping with the pink leaf, then the aqua leaf image and then the green leaf. For a little extra dimension, I highlighted the stamped images with very light Copic markers (YR01/02, G00/12 and RV00). I stamped the sentiment on a sentiment strip and then used a Lettering Embossing Pen and a ruler to add a Carmel Macchiato Heat Embossed border around the sentiment. This is simple and easy way to add an elegant touch to your sentiment strips. For a little extra pop, I added some Pink Peony Opal Sheen and Peach Melba Opal Sheen embellishments and little drops of Orange Soda Nuvo Glitter Drops (my favorite color for the fall season!)

Thanksgiving Blessings

This was such a fun card to make. Once I saw the wheel die in the Forest Friends coordinating die, I knew I wanted to create a simple interactive card by creating some spinning wheels for the wagon. First I did my stamping with a little masking. First I stamped the wagon image, then I masked the wagon and stamped/masked the pumpkins into the wagon. I colored the wagon and pumpkins with an assortment of brown and orange Copic markers. Then I added the Thanksgiving Blessings Sentiment.

For the interactive part, I used the tiny circle die (not pictured) to create two holes in the wheel spokes. Then I die cut two wheels from black cardstock. I placed a loose fitting brad to connect the wheels to the card but it also acts as the “spinning device”. To allow the brad to spin, behind the card I used foam tape to create enough depth from the brad and the card base so it could spin freely. With the foam tape in place, I adhered the card panel to a black cardstock card base for a clean and simple interactive card. 

Trick or Treat

This was a fun clean and simple card to create. I love all of the recent pink, peach and aqua pumpkins images that I keep seeing on Instagram and thought it would be perfect non-traditional Halloween Card. I stamped and masked the tall pumpkin image across the white card panel with Copic safe ink. Then I colored the pumpkins with Copics and White Gel Pen. For a little extra pop, I added some little bats and the cutest transparent ghost embellishments from the Spooky Squad Embellishments Mix. You have to give the card a good look to see the ghosts. I always love adding little playful elements to a clean and simple card for a little extra fun and whimsy. I adhered all of the images with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive which dries clear and was amazing for those clear ghosts. 

So there we are friends, three clean and simple cards using the “Accessory Images” (pumpkins, leaves and wagon) from the Forest Friends Stamps Set (with a little help from Autumn Sentiments) all inspired by the Pumpkin Patch.
