Canine Companion Card

Hello there, Christine here with a sympathy card for anyone that loses their beloved canine fur baby. Dogs are such a big part of my life and always will be, I have two fur babies right now and have been volunteering with my daughter at our animal shelter for 10 years.

It’s so very hard to make a sympathy card, but I have to say that the Cloud Companions stamp & die set are so cheerful and playful that it makes the entire process easier.

First I stamped the rainbow and did simple copic coloring to the piece I cut out my hand. I wanted some dimension on the card, so I put double-sided adhesive underneath (you can see the dimension more on the angled photo below). I used a white gel pen to create highlights.

The background of the slimline card was made using a lot of masking and stamping. First I laid out how I would stamp everything in a MISTI (to make sure it would fit!) and then I stamped on the cardstock and on a piece of masking paper. I fussy cut the mask of the adorable cloud dogs and clouds and then ink blended on top with speckled egg, scattered straw and tattered rose distress oxide inks to create an early morning sunrise.

I used a W3 copic marker to just highlight the clouds and then added glitter paste on top to create more shine.  I finally stamped the sentiment and added a few sequins (just a little sparkle) to finish the card.  I hope that you like it! Thank you for stopping by!
