You Brighten My Day

Ilina here! Today I have a card for you using the Watt’s Up! Stamp set and coordinating dies. I decided to go with yellow and black to symbolize dark and light which I found it appropriate for this stamp set. 

Also being an Electrical Engineer, light bulbs are near and dear to my heart 😉 

To make the card start by stamping the light bulb on watercolor paper using water resistant ink and color it. Die cut it using the coordinating dies. Die cut the center piece of the light bulb from silver mirror cardstock. Assemble the light bulb.

 

Cut A2 ( 4″ x 5 1/4″ )panel from yellow cardstock. Cut a another panel from black cardstock and trim off the bottom part so the top forms an asymmetrical pointy piece. I eye ball it and chop it using my paper trimmer. 

Using the black piece as a guide ink blend yellow ink along the edge and where the light bulb will be. I typically put the image at the pointy spot and cover it. Once ink blended spray iridescent shimmer spray over the panel and let it dry.

Stamp portion of the sentiment on the black cardstock using embossing ink and emboss in white. Next adhere the piece to the yellow panel. Stamp the second part of the sentiment right below it in black. I carefully inked the stamp and also masked the portion I wasn’t using with removable tape, inked, removed the tape and stamped.

 

Adhere the light bulb using foam tape. Add Clear Twinkle Stardust Rhinestones to finish off the card.
