Favorite Notification Cell Phone Shaker
Hello, fellow crafters and card makers!! Brenda here with a mini slimline shaker card that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day!! I wanted to stick to a mostly red and white color scheme so it would work for a male or female. Masculine cards are always a struggle for me, so I thought this would be great for anyone!!
I started by die-cutting the frame and icons for the cell phone from red, white and yellow cardstock using the Cell Phone Slimline Die Set. I trimmed a piece of gray cardstock to 3″x6″ and rounded the corners. I also trimmed a piece of acetate to 3″x6″, rounded the corners on it and adhered it to the back of the red frame with 1/8″ Rip & Stick Tape.
Next, I stamped the emoji from the Smart Phone Sayings with InkOn3 Blackout Ink and colored it with Copics. I stamped the sentiments from the same set with red ink, then used the Smart Phone Sayings Coordinating Dies to cut out the emoji and larger sentiment. The smaller sentiment was cut out with a die in the Cell Phone Mini Slimline Die Set. I used tiny die-cut hearts that were cut from red cardstock with a die in the Cell Phone Mini Slimline Die Set for the eyes of the emoji.
“Hugs” was die-cut with the Simply Sentimental: Hugs Die Set. The top layer was cut once from red cardstock and three times from heavyweight white cardstock. The bottom layer was cut from white cardstock, then they were all stacked and adhered together.
I adhered the “I love you” speech bubble, emoji and icons the background with foam adhesive strips.
The red and white embellishments from the following mixes were used for my shaker bits: Sweet & Tart Sprinkles, Cinnamon Red Hearts, Crafty Hugs, Little Sweethearts and Lily White Hearts. The frame was adhered to the background with foam adhesive strips.
The “hugs” and notification die-cuts were adhered to the front of the acetate. I rounded the corners on a white mini slimline card base, then adhered the shaker to it and this card was finished.
I absolutely love how this turned out!! I can’t wait to make more of these in different color combos for other occasions!!
