Trimming the Tree
Hey friends! Katie here today with a fun holiday card from this most recently release. It has a fun feel, but also sentimental too, because the ornaments remind me of the old fashioned ornaments my grandmother had.
Isn’t this a fun card? There are so many elements I love. Firstly, the pine needles from the All Spruced Up Stamp Set. I used my Misti to stamp these and used both the Ink On 3 Goddess Green Ink Pad, followed by the Trinity Teal. I think this created some fun depth in the needles and make me think of the blue spruce Christmas trees I grew up with. I stamped the pinecones in the Twiggy Brown ink. After that, I used the Slimline Celebration Borders in bright pink to create garland.
Next, I stamped the images form Holiday Hang Out and cut them out using the corresponding Holiday Hang Out Die Set. I colored them with my Copics using BG49, BG45, BG01, Y15, Y13, YG06, YG07, YG11, RV02, RV04, RV06, C7, C5, C3, C1, E00, E02, E93, E11, E13, E15. Once they were colored, I used my white gel pen to add highlights. I added some fine white glitter to parts of the ornaments to make them look like the old fashioned glass ones. Then I re-stamped the images on the base and popped up the cut images using foam tape. Lastly, I added some Bubblemint Candy Sprinkles using glue dots.
I really enjoyed making this card and it brought me some fun thoughts and memories. I hope that you also enjoy this card.
