Rhino Shaker for Valentine’s Day | Karen Reategui
Hi crafty friends! I’m back after a short but amazing break! Hope you had enjoyed your holidays and I wish you all a marvelous crafty year 2019! For today’s card, I have a Valentine’s shaker featuring the Rhino Bird stamp. This stamp is definitely a cutie! Also, I’m using the Trinity Blendabilities! I have to say that they are AMAZING and I love how sturdy they are. Of course, they do the job much easier and the results look fabulous!
Let’s start! On a piece of white cardstock I created a plaid background using a sketched stripes stamp and stamping with Altenew inks. Then, I added this background to a white card base.
Next, using white cardstock I die cut 4 times a frame with a stitched scalloped rectangle die from Lawn Fawn. I glued 3 of them to the plaid background reserved one. The inside part of the scalloped was a white rectangle and I applied color to it using Altenew inks and one blendability brush. I also, added this rectangle to the inside of the scallops to create the shaker pocket.
I added foam tape to the edges of the shaker pocket and some sequins in the inside. I used the following: Bubblegum mix, Love is in the air mix, Skip-A-Beat mix and one Cinnamon Red-Hot jelly heart drop added to the heart between the critters.
Additionally, I die cut a large rectangle out of acetate using a large stitched rectangle frame. I closed the shaker pocket adding this piece of acetate on top, plus the remaining white scalloped frame.
I placed the Rhino, the bird and the heart on the bottom of the shaker window. These images were stamped, heat embossed and colored. I used Copic markers to color them.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment onto light pink cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder. On top of the card, I tied a piece of red and white twine as my final touch.
I hope you like this Rhino Shaker for Valentine’s Day. The images are so cute and lovely to create perfect cards to send out to friends and remind them how much you love them.
