Guest Designer: Megan Quinn!

We’re so excited to have Megan Quinn joining us as a Guest Designer! Megan is sharing with us the “Tweetest” Gingerbird House Slimline card. Thank you Megan for joining us today and sharing your inspiration with the Trinity Tribe!

Hi friends! My name is Megan Quinn and I am so excited to be guest designing for Trinity Stamps! I have created a full winter themed scene card using some of amazing products from the latest release.

This is my first slimline card ever. I know! What took me so long? Well, I will be honest. I love the way card panels look when they are die cut. (Even more so when there is a pretty stitched or scalloped detail on the edges.) When I saw the new Slimline Card Series line of products offered by Trinity Stamps, I knew that I had found the answer! No more trying to remember the measurements or get the perfect cut on a paper trimmer. Just run your paper thru your die cutting machine and you are all set!

I adore the images in the new Gingerbread House Stamp Set! There are so many images included in this set and they all work perfectly together. If you have ever seen my designs before, you know how much I love to combine different stamp sets to create my scene cards. No need here! There are plenty of images included in this set to not only fill up a standard A2 style card, but this longer slimline design as well.

To give the illusion that this scene is perched high up in a tree, I used the Slimline Card Series: Stitched Card Panels and Windows from a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock to create the front panel. I blended Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean using a stencil for the clouds. I also die cut a second panel from Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the same die to give stitching along the sides and bottom. I then used a die from the Slimline Card Series: Scenic Border Die Set to create the foliage. I blended Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink on the greenery and  it with more of the Peacock Feathers Ink. Lastly, I watered down some Copic Opaque White and flicked that over the entire front panel to look like snow.

For the sentiment, I stamped a sentiment from the Gingerbread House Stamp Set onto a banner that I die cut from black cardstock using a die from the Slimline Card Series: Scalloped Card Panels and Banners Die Set. I wanted to give the card a little bit of shimmery goodness, so I used liquid adhesive to adhere Irisdescent White Snowflake Kisses Confetti to the sky part of the front panel. To finish the card off, I adhered the front panel to a piece of sparkle cardstock that I die cut using the largest scalloped rectangle from that set as well.

Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope that my card has inspired you to create a slimline card. I am hooked now! Have a great day!
