Got the Stencil Bug??
Hello Trinity Tribe! Shanna here today showing you a trio of cards plus a bonus OOPS card showcasing the Summer School stencil trio. Have you been bit by the stencil bug yet?? I have, and these stencils are a beauty to work with! They measure 6×6, so a traditional sized card front is completely manageable with them
I have made a couple cards before with these in a very traditional “ocean palette”, but this time I wanted to step outside that box. I simply pulled sets of oxide inks that appealed to me, with NO rhyme or reason. I seriously had never even tried these blends together!! What a fun way to try out new blends and end up with a card done too!!
For all three cards, I finished them off with a layer of glossy texture paste from Ranger. It gives the stenciled images an embossed look, and a bit of added shine! My sentiments for all three of these cards came from the Ocean Reef Builder set!
Here are a few pics of the “process”:
Bonus OOPS card!
I tested another card out using a different texture paste by Vicki Boutin, but alas, I had skipped the essential “tape the stencil down” step and my stencil slipped while applying the paste….The colors from the ink blending bled a bit. So what’s a girl to do?? Sentiment to the rescue!!! I stamped my sentiment from Mermaid wishes and the Thank you Senti-mini set and cut them down to a rectangle, matted and then mounted them to the card with foam tape. my OOPS is barely noticeable now!
