Bloom Where You Are Planted
Good morning friends!! I don’t know about you, but I am so ready to start planting flowers! The weather turns spring-like and I am chomping at the bit!! My mom always says that in our area we need to wait until after Mother’s Day, but it’s really hard sometimes!! Even though it’s 80 degrees here today, we did have snow on Sunday!! I guess I’ll have to play with all of my flowers in my craft room until then…LOL!
I normally start with my focal image, but for this project I began with the background first. I have a couple of colors of Nuvo Shimmer Powder and I wanted to try them out. I blended the Shimmer Powders (Cherry Bomb & Atlantis Burst) onto a panel of watercolor paper with water. I really love the effect I got with these and can’t wait to play with them some more! Next, I stamped the images from Let Love Grow with Versafine Onyx black Ink onto watercolor paper and clear heat embossed them. I watercolored them with Tombow markers and water, then cut them out using the Coordinating Dies. “Bloom” was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and die-cut. The remainder of the sentiment was stamped directly onto the panel with Versafine and clear heat embossed. The watercolor panel was die-cut with a stitched rectangle die and matted with black cardstock. The die-cut sentiment and floral images were adhered with liquid adhesive and foam tape. Lastly, a sprinkling of Prom Dress Confetti Mix adds a little more sparkle!!
How about you? when do you start planting annual flowers?
Thanks so much for joining me today!!
See you soon!!
