Beam me up!

Hello Tuesday.  Katie here today with another fun card to share.  This one has me feeling out of this world.

I adore all the elements of this card.  The combo has me feeling giddy.   I think my favorite bit is the… uh, nevermind, I can’t choose. LOL

Here is a close up of the top half of the card:

I used Make-A-Spaceship-Die for the craft.  I die cut it in this bluish purple sparkly paper.  I had a light purple that looked like the night sky to use in the background.  There is a layer acetate and it is mounted under the glitter with foam in between that and the base layer.  I used the parts of the top to make a joy stick to steer with.  The alien is from Monster Love, stamped on Copic and colored. I gave it an extra arm to drive.  I wanted the ship to have lights, so I used the Neon Lights with glue dots.

Here is part of the bottom half.  For this portion, I stamped another monster and I colored this one orange.  You might notice the glossy accents on the eye. The base was cut out with some starry DP using the Stitched Card Panels and Windows.  In front of that, I added a bit of vellum cut to look like a space beam.  I used the Slimline Stripes Stencil with my Blending Buddy  and distress ink to make it look like rays/lights where in the middle. I added some hearts from the Rainbow Die Set in bright pink.

Here is a shot of the two together. I love the different colored alien monsters and they are happy to be together.

The last bit of the card is the moon from which the alien is being beamed.  I used the Crater Layers Stencil win some green distress oxide varieties to create the moon.  I die cut the bottom with the slimline and then cut out the moon and adhered it to the star DP.  Then I stamped the punny sentiment from Love & Stuff on a matching green paper and die cut it using the banner from the 4 Bar Die Set.  All were mounted on white for the finish and I added a Slimline Envelope to compliment it.

I hope you think this card is fun, I sure do!

Have a great day and visit me on my blog anytime.  ~Katie

  1. This is sooooo awesome, I love how you manipulated the monster image to show him steering the spaceship!
