Stamping Together: You’re Otter this World!
Hello Friends and Happy Monday! Welcome to Stamping Together; a monthly Mom and Daughter Duo post. One of the best things about stamping and card making, is sharing this creativity with my daughter (the Pops of Paper Kiddo). I let her pick the idea & Trinity Stamps Product and we laugh and giggle our way to a few projects to share with you. We hope you enjoy our creative adventures!
This week it’s all about the NEON with an Otter this World Set of cards using the Otterly Cute Otter Space Stamp Set, the Crater Layers 6×6 Laser Cut Stencil and Neon Lights Embellishments. The kiddo created the circle orbiting planet card and I went with the slimline “floating in space” card.
To create the neon accents, we used Rina K Screamin Green Electro-Pop Neon Glintz and Zig CLean Color Brush Markers in Fluorescent Pink, Yellow, Orange and Green.
From the Kiddo: Hi! Happy Otter Day! My mom and I decided to use the new otter stamp from Trinity Stamps to create something that we thought was spectacular. I started with coloring the otters. The first otter I colored was purple, pink, and yellow. I made the otters skin a lighter color than the other one. The second one I colored in was blue, orange, and green. I made the otters skin a darker brown than the first otter. Next, we used the crater layers stencil to create the planet on a circular piece of cardstock. To make the planet stand out more we added green neon glitz. Next I popped up the otters with foam squares. Then I stamped down the sentiment and popped it up like I did with the otters. Last but not least I put down neon embellishments down to match the neon theme we did. Have a lovely otter day!
From the Adult Kiddo: To create the Otter this World Floating in Space Slimline card, I stamped and colored the Otters, Stars and Planet with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink, Fluorescent Zig Clean Color Brush Markers along with a few grays and browns for the otters and their suit. You might notice that I also did some mirror image stamping to have two Otters Waving with different arms. Then I used the Crater Layers stencil at the bottom of my card using Neon Ink and Screaming Green Electro-Op Neon Glintz. The Layered Crater Stencil is so simple to use and creates so much dimension on a card…and all this dimension and layering happens with ONE stencil!! I fussy cut all of my images and adhered them with foam adhesive and glue for different layers. I adhered the decorated card panel to a silver glitter stitched panel that I created using the largest Stitched Slimline Metal Die. For a little extra pop, I added the Neon Lights Embellishments.
We hope you enjoyed our electric Otter this World Space Cards and it inspires you to add a little Neon to your next card-making project.
Big Paper Hugs,
Emily & the Pops of Paper Kiddo
