12 Days of Christmas- Day 1

Hi there- welcome to our fun event- the 12 Days of Christmas! So many innovative projects from our fabulous design team. I’m here to start it off with a last minute card project! In the spirit of making a last minute, I kept the card super simple and fast to make. Foiling the card creates a lot of interest, tone on tone coloring makes it fast to color and using high contrast colors really makes the sentiment pop.

First I hot foiled the beautiful ornament background with the Retro Baubles Foiling Die onto to pink cardstock with gold foil. Be sure to keep the negative foil that is left over- it is beautiful and can be transferred onto cardstock with a large rectangle foiling plate.

After hot foiling, I did tone on tone coloring and used a pink copic marker (R20) to color some of the patterns in the ornaments. I used gold acrylic paint to paint the bows and topper, but you can also just use a copic marker. If you use a thin layer of acrylic paint- it will dry quickly.

Finally I die cut the sentiment using the Merry and Bright Sentiment die set with high contrast colors that really stand out against the pink background. Adding a few gold sequin embellishments ties things together and forces the eye to move around the front of the card. I hope that you like it and will give it a try. Thank you so much for stopping by!
