Well Done Grad

Hello, crafty friends and happy Thursday!! Brenda here with a graduation card created with goodies from the latest May release!! I wanted to create a scene with a table, tablecloth and a “well done” steak!! If you don’t need a graduation card, you can easily make this into a Father’s Day card by die-cutting “dad” using the Grad Sentiment Die Set, instead of “grad”.

I started by inking a panel of white woodgrain paper with Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke and Antique Linen Distress Oxide Inks using foam applicators. This will create my table top.

Next, I stamped the Double Line Check Background Stamp onto white cardstock with red ink. I die-cut it with a die from the A2 Clean Cut Layers Rectangle Set A Die Set.

The Grad Sentiment Die Set was cut from glossy black and red cardstock. I also die-cut the bottom layer two more times from heavyweight white cardstock and layered them behind the black layer for dimension.

The steak and fork from the Un-grill-ievable Stamp Set was stamped with InkOn3 Blackout Ink, colored with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The sentiment, from the same set, was stamped onto white cardstock with red ink, also using the Coordinating Die to cut it out. I created a plate from frosted silver cardstock using dies from both Clean Cut Layers Circle Set A & Set B. The plate was cut out with the larger die and the smaller one was dry embossed with my die-cut machine and an embossing mat.

The “tablecloth” panel was adhered onto the woodgrain panel on a diagonal using liquid glue.

The “grad” die-cut letters and plate were also adhered with liquid glue.

I decided to white heat emboss “well done” onto red cardstock and popped it up with adhesive foam strips. The bottom of the steak was adhered to the plate with liquid glue, while the top of it was popped up with adhesive foam strips. There are actually two layers of foam strips behind the handle of the fork to give it a little more height so it looks like it’s sticking into the steak.

I love it when a card comes together exactly how I picture it in my head!!

Thanks so much for dropping by today!! Enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll see you next Thursday!!

Brenda
