We Wish You a Merry Christmas – Foiled Retro Baubles

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating in the US!! Brenda here with a shiny, foiled Christmas card to share with you today!! The Retro Baubles Foil Plate creates such a beautiful background!! Just add a sentiment and you have a stunning card!!

I began by hot foiling the Retro Baubles Foil Plate onto smooth white cardstock using mini rainbow stripe foil. I used a solid hot foil plate to apply a solid piece of the same foil to another panel of smooth white cardstock. The two largest dies in the Clean Cut A2 Layers Die Set A were used to die-cut the two foiled panels.

The top layer of “Christmas” was die-cut from the solid foiled panel using the Simply Sentimental: Christmas Die Set. (Shhhh…don’t tell anyone. We’re going to cover it up anyway!!) I did get a bit of cracking in the foil with the pressure from die-cutting, but Copic markers in similar colors covered it up perfectly. The ink in the markers is transparent, so you can still see the foil through it. The bottom layer was cut from white cardstock and the layers were adhered together. The rest of the sentiment, from the Simply Sentimental: Christmas Stamp Set, was gold heat embossed onto white cardstock and cut out with a tag in the Bitty Tags Dies Set.

I wrapped gold thread around the top panel three times and adhered it to the back with tape, then adhered the panel to the solid foiled one. I tied a triple bow of gold thread onto the tag. Both the die-cut sentiment and tag were popped up with adhesive foam strips.

Lots of Rainbow Reflection Rhinestones add even more rainbow color, along with some sparkle and shine.

I really love how this turned out!! You can’t go wrong with rainbows, am I right?!?

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

Don’t forget to check out the Black Friday sales happening over in the shop!!
