Trinity Stamps new monthly challenge with Davina

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome to the very first Trinity Stamps Crafty Troop Challenge. You may know me as @popsiclesticks on IG, my name is Davina, and I will be your Troop Leader here on the Trinity Stamps blog. Each month I will introduce a new challenge theme, and open an InLinkz  button at the bottom of the post, for you to add your Trinity Stamps Crafty Troop Challenge projects to. There will also be a fun little “patch” image badge for you to grab and collect.  Please Feel free share these cute “patches” that you have earned, along with your Social media posts, along with the hashtag #craftytroopchallenge. The link will stay open until the end of the month, and we will randomly select a winner from the eligible participants, to win a $15 gift certificate to the Trinity Stamps website.

For this first inaugural challenge, and with spring rapidly approaching, I wanted to make this challenge something all of us would love. I chose the theme “Floral”  which is truly a challenge for me, as I don’t often make non-scene cards and always grab critters if given the opportunity.

I used a beautiful bouquet from the latest release called Love You Bunches, and the coordinating Die Set to create a lush scene in very little time. I started by stamping the large image onto nice thick watercolor paper with clear Versamark ink, and heat embossing in white. Next, I used some Distress Ink mini cubes to create a small watercolor pallet. Using a wet paintbrush, I loosely watercolored the images. After cutting out my arrangement using the dies, I also cut a few cardstock layers. I created a kraft layer and a white layer (the same watercolor paper I used earlier), to splatter some of the Pink, Purple, and white ink upon.

I used the layering Hello senti-mini dies, to cut the word “hello” from matching purple watercolored paper, and the larger layer from white AND from a sheet of fun foam. I carefully applied glue to attach all of the layers and held flat under an acrylic block to dry.

I attached my layers together with Scor tape, then adhered my florals making sure to put two little blossoms behind the main image, and a third blossom on top to  create some visual dimension. I layered the sentiment from the stamp set, onto a vellum stitched banner (One of the bonus pieces from the narrow card & bookmark). Then I attached my thick foam word, directly above The banner. I finished it off by adding a sprinkling of iridescent Plastic Flamingo Confetti Mix sequins. I just love that they pick up both the pink and the purple colors. I mounted the entire thing onto a matching raspberry card base using scor tape. I hope you feel inspired to get out your spring florals and get Making!

Now it’s you’re turn to earn those Crafty Troop Badges! Create a card, scrapbook layout, or Journal Page using Trinity Stamps, and link it below using the InLinkz button. Feel free to collect your badge(copy and save image) and share it with your post. I’d really appreciate it if you used the hashtag #craftytroopchallenge so I can find your projects and share them too! Let’s spread the word and make this a fun adventure!
