Sweeter than Candy

Hello everyone! Shanna here today with a fun Halloween inspired card featuring the Harvest Candy & Flower bucket die set.

This time of year is always a bit nostalgic as I remember trick or treating as a child, and now they joys of watching my own kiddos dress up as well. Part of that nostalgia is the colorful plastic pumpkin buckets filling the stores shelves.  That is where I got my inspiration from for my card.

I started off with the scalloped base from the Narrow Card and Bookmark die set and ink blended some Distress Oxides in Twisted citron and Mustard Seed for the background.  I die cut and ink blended the pumpkin bucket in Wilted Violet.  The handle had me stumped for a bit.  I wanted the slim line card in landscape format,  but adding the handle, it was almost all completely off the card.  Then it hit me!  The handles on the real buckets swivel down, so I glued mine over the front, but I set the sides just enough so it would “hover” over the top without obscuring too much of the design.  I love how it added a bit of dimension as well.

My sentiment came from the Sweet Senti Mini and coordinating dies.  I diecut “sweeter” 3 times, and then glued them all together so the sentiment was a bit more sturdy. Then I stamped the rest of the phrase directly onto my card.

All sorts of embellishments went on the card, you can check them all out here.

Lastly, the panel was mounted onto a card base measuring 6.5×7” and scored at 3.5”.
