Slimline Tutorial

Hello! I have a sllimline card & tutorial for you today.  I used several of the slimline series dies including The Great Outdoor Borders & Builders die, Foliage Frame die and Wonky Stitched Wilderness die paired with the Bunny Burrow stamp & die set.

The easiest way to make a slimline and minimize paper scraps is to take one 8.5 by 11 inch cardstock and on the long side (11 inch) cut off 4 inches, so you are left with a 4 inch by 8.5 inch piece and a 7 inch by 8.5 inch piece.  Take the 7 inch by 8.5 inch piece and make a score line right in the middle of the 7 inches (at 3.5 inches).

You now have your card base (3.5 inches by 8.5 inches) and a piece (4 inches by 8.5 inches) to make a panel!  The Foliage Frame die fits perfectly on the 4 inch by 8.5 inch panel as shown below.

For the card I have made for today’s post, I used the Foliage Frame die to die cut a leafy panel out of green cardstock.  I cut some of the leaves with a scissor.  I cut a white cardstock panel with the Wonky Stitched Wilderness die  and then ink blended Distress Oxide Ink speckled egg onto this panel.  I also used of the dies from the Great Outdoor Borders & Builders die to cut some grass and clouds.  I also die cut some trees and put some of the cut leaves onto the trees. I brushed some glitter paste onto the clouds to create some interest.

I then stamped and die cut with the Bunny Burrow stamp & die set. I kept the coloring simple, I used light & dark crumb cake (Stampin Up) for the house. The bunny was colored with E31 & E21, the worm was colored with G94 & YG61.  Finally I added a sentiment to complete the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by- I hope that this made making a slimline card easier!
