Shellabration Time! One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily M.

Hi Friends and Happy Monday! Emily @popofpaper here today with three cards using the 4×8 Shellabration Stamp Set illustrated by Christie Black. This set is absolutely adorable with it’s party-time crab and happy octopus and all the fun balloons and party accessories.

Birthday Fishes to You!

For my first card, I created a colorful slimline using the super sweet Octopus who barely has a leg empty with all his party favors. I colored all of the images with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers and then fussy cut the images…you can also save yourself a ton of time by using the Coordinating dies.

I used the Stitched Waves Die Set to create the background. If you have a collection or starting a collection of seaside/ocean stamps, the stitched waves is a great set to add quick dimension to your scenes or CAS cards.

To attach the balloons, I used glue dots to adhere DMC floss in pink, blue or purple to the back of each balloon. Then I taped all of the strands to the back of the Octopus image and snipped any extra threads. After I attached the Octopus (with foam tape) to the card panel, I then positioned the balloons and strings in place. To finish the card, I added some yummy Candy Confetti Embellishments and polka dot washi tape to the bottom of the card panel.

Let’s Shellebrate!

Oh, my goodness this crab just cracks me up. He is having the time of his life with his strawberry sorbet and yellow balloon that’s as big as the sun. For the palm tree and sandy beach background, I used the Layered Palm Tree Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks and my blending buddies. Because you can’t have a palm tree without coconuts, I added two glitter resin embellishments. To finish the card, I added the sentiment and a few Sunset Beach Shell Confetti embellishments.

Happy Birthday Balloon Bonus Card

While the Party Crab and Octopus are the main feature of this adorable stamp set, I do love a basic balloon celebration card. I stamped and colored the balloons in cheerful rainbow colors. Then I layered the balloons and adhered them to a white card panel.

Tip: For ease of layering and adhering all the balloons in the exact place I originally arranged them, I use Glad Press N Seal method (as seen on Jennifer McGuire’s Blog) to place and pick up all the images at once, then add my glue and apply all the image to the card panel at once.

For extra pop, I added my favorite Holographic Star embellishments and a Happy Birthday banner sentiment.

So there we are friends, three Celebration Cards using the ADORABLE Shellabration Stamp Set. I hope you enjoyed my project today and it inspires you to stretch your stamps in fun new ways.

Big Paper Hugs!
