Rainy Days Together
Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today to share a card I created using Trinity Stamps’ new stamp set named, Rainy Days Together. I don’t know where you live but I’m on the West Coast and we have rain in the forecast this week. It’s May! I pulled out this set since the rain doesn’t seem to want to go away.
I wanted to put together a super simple card since the main image in this set is large and perfect for an easy card. I stamped the image on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock and I also stamped out a mask. I wasn’t too concerned with masking the little droplets.
For the background, I decided to use distress inks. I masked off the ground so it didn’t look like she was floating on a puddle. I used a few random colors for the sky and I picked distress inks specifically so I could add drizzle to the background.
Once my background was done, I colored in my images using alcohol markers picking bright bold colors to let the little girl pop against the colorful background. Since distress inks react with water, I used a water brush to create the subtle look of rain.
For the puddle, I really wanted to add a little sparkle to it. I used Pixie Dust to give it something extra special.
This card turned out to be super cute even though it’s really simple. I love how many sentiments come in this set because you can mass produce this type of card easily but change the overall feel of the card. For this card, I wanted to use it for a friend so I chose the simple “I’m here for you, rain or shine”.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to create using this set. There are just so many different cards you can create with it!
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
Love the background!
