Ocean Reef Builder: One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily M!

Hi Everyone and Happy Monday! Hope you all had a nice weekend. This week I’m sharing three different cards using the fun Ocean Scene Reef Builder 4×8 Stamp Set. This set has so many ocean scene images and the sentiments are pun-tastic!

Supplies Used:

You Octopi My Mind

I love the Octopus image in this set and they are super fun to color. I used bright pink and orange copics and added some highlights with a white gel pen. I thought it would be cute to have each octopus swimming through the nautical portholes so I die cut two circles into my card panel using a circle nesting die that I had in my stash. Behind the portholes, I did some ink blending with Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers. After adding the sentiment, I also added a few Berry Blue Jelly Drop Hearts next to each Octopus…since I imagine them with Love YaYs! on their mind.

Thanks for a Jelly Good Time

I mean seriously, this sentiment is THE BEST! The jellyfish are pretty cute too and I especially like the little baby jellyfish. For this card, I channelled my inner Carly Tee with a glitter paste background. I have to admit this stuff is a little addicting. For this clean and simple design, I stamped the little jellyfish family and colored with my Copics. Then did some ink blending on Strathmore Bristol smooth paper and then added the Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. I die cut a circle in the “centerish” of my card panel and then with foam tape adhered the panel to the blended/glitter paste background. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock and then adhered my jellyfish family with foam adhesive squares.

Just Keep Swimming

For this card, I wanted to highlight all the fun tidepool/reef images so I colored all the images in bright fun colors. To create the waves, I use the hills from the Castle Scene Builder stamp set. For the back wave panel, I blended just the top of the water for a little movement. For the front wave panel, I did a full ink blend and then added in some waves using the Stitched waves die set. I love how the dies just make the stitched images directly to the card stock. It adds some great interest and texture to clean and simple cards. I can’t wait to use this die set for more projects! To finish the card, I adhered all of the images and for a little extra pop, I added some water bubbles using Rock Candy Confetti.

So there we are friends! One awesome stamp and three colorful, bright and cheerful Pun-tastic ocean-themed cards. I hope you had a swimmingly good time reading my post and it inspires you to create some fun ocean reef cards.

Big Paper Hugs!

Emily
