Mix it Up Monday: Two Holidays with One Adorable Gnome Stamp Set

Hi Friends and Happy Monday! Emily here with you today for Mix it Up Monday. I mixed up color combinations with the Joyful Heart Stamp Set and Sending Hugs Standalone Die for two different holiday cards: One for Valentine’s day using Reds, Pinks, Purples with Silver Glitter and the second card for St. Patrick’s Day using Green, Orange and Gold Glitter.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers. After coloring the Gnomes, I added white gel pen to add highlights to the coloring and the polka dots on the Green Hat.

I die-cut “HUGS” from multiple colors of cardstock that I had in my scrap stash. Then I did a Left-Side Stack and slide to add extra dimension and pops of color. I find that using a liquid adhesive is the best way to connect your Stack-n-Slide Alpha diecuts.

To ground the Gnome Image to the white background, I added a piece of Red/White Stripe Washi to the Valentine Gnome and Black/White Stripe Washi to the St. Patrick’s Day Gnome.

So there we are friends, a fun way to stretch your stamps and metal dies by mixing up your color combinations. Since hearts can be used for just about any occasion, you could definitely use this same technique for all your holiday card making. I hope you enjoyed my post today and it inspires you to mix and match your supplies in fun new ways.
