Mix it Up Monday: Hoppy Easter Slimline Card

Hi Friends and welcome to Mix it Up Monday! I’m sharing an Easter Springtime Slimline card using my favorite Marshmallow Alphabet Die Set (this font is THE BEST! for fun whimsical cards) along with the Slimline Staggered Rectangles Die and the cutest Easter-Springtime Stamps from the March Mini Release:

Card Making Details

The Images: I stamped all of the images with VersaFine Clair Ink to Bristol Smooth Cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

Bunnies: Pale Gray-097, Cool Gray-099, Light Pink-026
Eggs: Pink-025, Carmine Red-022, Orange-070, Yellow-050, Bright Yellow-052, May Green-052, Blue-037

Then I fussy cut with my trusty old scissors but you could also use the coordinating dies. I added a few highlights to the coloring using a white gel pen.

The Alphas: For a Springtime Rainbow, I die-cut the letters H-O-P-P-Y from small pieces of cardstock that I had in my paper scrap box.

Alpha Tip: To create dimension, I die-cut each letter from white Fun Foam and adhered the color cardstock die cuts to the fun foam with Nuvo Deluxe Liquid Adhesive. You could also stack and adhere multiple white cardstock alpha die-cuts for similar results.

The Card Panel: To create the colorful frames around the H-O-P-P-Y sentiment, I die-cut the Slimline Staggered Rectangles Die from white cardstock. Then I used Copic Markers (Pink-RV55, Orange-YR04, Yellow-Y06, Teal-BG53, Purple-BV01) to color the inlay borders to match the colors of cardstock that I used to spell H-O-P-P-Y. Using Liquid Adhesive, I adhered the panel cut out to a white card base and adhered the colorful frames inside of the rectangle and then placed the five white cardstock panels back into the colorful frames.

Decorating the Card Panel: I placed all of the eggs and bunnies and then staggered H-O-P-P-Y up and down the rectangle panels so everything fit nicely in place. The images were adhered to the card panel using liquid adhesive glue and foam adhesive squares. Then I added the Easter sentiment to the bottom edge of the decorated card panel.

So there we are friends, a fun way to use your Alpha Dies while mixing stamps and dies for the occasion. You could definitely recreate the same Alpha Panel design with H-A-P-P-Y anniversary, birthday, H-E-L-L-O friend, M-E-R-R-Y everything, christmas, etc.

Big Paper Hugs!
Emily
