Mix it Up Monday: Happy Holidays Gnome Slimline Card

Hi Friends and Happy Monday. Emily @popsofpaper here with you today. I can’t believe it’s already November with the winter holidays right around the corner. Time to jump start on the holiday card making fun! I’m usually on the blog sharing how I use One Product (Stamp, Stencil, Metal Die) to create three cards, but today, I’m mixing up several products from the Warm & Cozy Release to create a Merry & Bright Holiday Gnome Slimline card sharing a slimline Gnome for the Holidays card.

Products & Steps Used to create today’s card:

  • Slimline 4×11 All Spruced Up Stamp Set This set is amazing and I can’t wait to make several more cards using the holly, pine cones and poinsettia image. With the help of a stamping tool like a MISTI, I was able to get a crisp impression using Catherine Pooler Mardi Gras Ink. Then I trimmed up the slimline image just enough to add a thin black cardstock frame.
  • Comfort & Joy and Let your Light Shine Stamp Set 3×4 Stamp Sets. These winter gnomes are so sweet together one with a lantern and one with a candle to light your way this holiday season. I colored all of the images using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers (Jade Green, Dark Red, Brown Grey, Fair Skin and Gold Brown).
  • Scripty Holidays Die Set What makes this die set so great is that it works perfectly with slimline and A2 size cards and I love that it comes with the shadow piece. I die cut Happy Holidays from red card stock (about 3 pieces each) and then the shadow from vellum. I adhered Happy Holidays sentiment to the shadow die using liquid adhesive. A little tip if you want to “lift up” a vellum backed sentiment from a card panel, I stack the die cuts under the vellum shadow piece and then adhere to the card panel (no foam needed! and no see glue spots peeking through the vellum).
  • Slimline Paper Pad-Holiday Trimmings I try not to have favorites but this paper pad is my absolute FAV paper pack. The colors are bright and the patterns are so cheerful and perfect for the holidays. Plus they work for both A2 and Slimline Cards!! After I adhered my gnomes and Happy Holidays to the All Spruced Up Panel, I used adhered the decorated card panel to the candy cane striped patterned paper. I love that the paper matches the candy cane striped hat on the Comfort & Joy Gnome.

So there we are friends, a Merry and Bright Holiday Slimline Card with a Mix and Match of supplies from the new release. I hope you enjoyed my card today and it inspires you to combine your supplies in fun new ways.

Big Paper Hugs!
Emily
