Midweek Creations With Jo Ann: Thankful For You
I love the fall. The leaves put on a dazzling display of brilliant colors, the air is brisk, the pumpkin patch is full of pumpkins with curling vines and tendrils, the smell of wood burning is in the air, and pumpkin lattes and apple cider are the drinks of the day.
When our children were young we would load them up in the car to go pumpkin and apple picking. At the farm they would drink fresh apple cider and eat caramel apples. I grew up in the north and these are the falls that I remember. I wax nostalgic because it is 82 degrees here in Texas! We tend to bypass fall here. LOL

Today’s card incorporates all of those images as this sweet girl eats her caramel apple while kicking up some colorful leaves in the pumpkin patch! This is a sneak peek of the set which will be available to buy November 2nd.
I stamped the images, from the Seasonal Sweetheart Stamp Set, onto #80 Neenah cardstock, using Copic friendly Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink, and colored them with Copic markers. I like to stamp lots of images so that I can play around with the design. Any extra pieces can be tucked away to be used on a future card.

The images were die cut using the coordinating Seasonal Sweetheart Die Set. I love how close the dies cut to the images. The die for the girl cuts out the arms perfectly so that she can hold a variety of items.
To create the background I used stencils, that I cut from heavy cardstock years ago, with the Cloud Border Die Set from Honey Bee Stamps. I used an ink tool and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create clouds. The horizon was created, and then the sky masked, using the Winter Wonder Stencil Set from Honey Bee Stamps. The ground is Twisted Citron and Bundled Sage Distress Ink.
The panel was added to a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall collection. I couldn’t find it to link for you in the supplies, but I am sure that you can find similar paper in your stash.
I built the scene by gluing the images down with Gina K Designs Connect Glue. The girl was added with Scotch Foam Tape for dimension. I ended up not using the sunflowers that I stamped.
The sentiment was stamped with Wendy Vecchi Potting Soil Archival Ink. The banner was cut, mounted onto a scrap of plaid paper, and added with Scotch Foam Tape.
The card needed something more to balance it out. I cut the stem off of one of the lighter colored sunflowers and tucked it behind the sentiment. See…I got to use the sunflowers after all!
This sweet girl comes with many images to hold for many seasons and occasions. The release will be available Friday, November 2nd. Be sure to check it out!
