Let’s Get Caffeinated

Hello friends & happy Thursday!! Brenda, here with you today!!!

My card today was created for my best friend. We live about 5 hours away from each other, and it doesn’t matter whether she comes to visit me, I go visit her, or we meet somewhere in between, we always have a great time. There is always tons of shopping involved and we usually need some caffeine for an afternoon pick-me-up. (Shopping is hard work!!) We usually end up at a Starbucks, where her drink of choice is a Very Berry Refresher and mine is a Caramel Frappuccino. I thought it would be fun to recreate those drinks on my card today!!

I love how it turned out!! I began by stamping the cups, lid, straws and whipped cream from the Coffee With Character set onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and added white gel pen details, before cutting with the Coffee With Character Coordinating Dies. For the background panel, I “ink smooshed” Seedless Preserves and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink onto glossy cardstock, then coated it with Distress Glaze. The glaze really brought out the colors & layers of Oxide Inks. The sentiment, also from Coffee With Character, was white heat embossed onto a rectangular, black piece of cardstock. It was matted in white, then popped up with foam adhesive. The drinks were adhered together, then popped up with dimensional adhesive onto the black panel. A few Rock Candy Confetti pieces were placed around the drinks. Tsukineko Radiant Neon Amplify in white was applied to the whipped cream and heated to make it puff up. (So fun!!) Auburn Pearl Crystal Nuvo Drops was drizzled onto the whipped cream to mimic the caramel.

I can’t wait to send this to my BFF!! Although, she will probably see it on social media first…lol!!

Thanks for hanging out with me today!! See you next Thursday!!
