Hello, Trinity friends and happy Friday!! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week!! Mine went by really quickly, since Monday was a holiday!!
Do you ever have a card that turns out totally different than the one you had in your head when you sat down to craft? This one was one of them for me! I had intended to do some ink blending with the Oak Leaf Mini Slimline Die, but as you can see, it took a totally different turn!!
Let’s get to my card…
I began by adding Stick-It double sided adhesive to the back of a panel of white and holographic gold cardstock, then cut the Mini Slimline Oak Leaf Panel Die from both of them. I could have used liquid adhesive, but the outlines of the leaves are so thin that I didn’t want to chance it oozing out all over my holographic cardstock.
I created a slimline panel from heavyweight white cardstock measuring 3.25″ x 6.25″ and trimmed a panel of gold holographic cardstock slightly smaller. Did you know that you can heat emboss on holographic cardstock? I didn’t either! The first time I tried, I have to admit that I melted the paper…ha! But the second time it came out perfect…just keep the heat tool moving. The sentiment is from the A Sentiment For Almost Everything stamp set. It was white heat embossed onto the holographic cardstock and trimmed into a narrow strip. I also trimmed a strip of white cardstock to mat the gold one.
From there, all I had to do was adhere all of the layers together, inlaying the leaves into the openings in the white cardstock.
Using the Stick-It adhesive on the back made this really easy!! The sentiment strip was popped up onto the center of the middle leaf with foam tape.
I really LOVE how this turned out, although it is completely different than what I had planned!! The gold holographic cardstock catches the light and is perfect for fall!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you next Friday!!
