Happy Birthday Little Monsters

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today and I am so excited to be back sharing a fun project with you all. I have 4 nephews and I am always trying to find a fun and creative way to give them a gift card (their present of choice) for their birthdays. So when I saw the Make A Monster Die Set I knew I had to use it to make a gift card holder for them.

I started my monsters, by first organizing my dies. This die set includes a lot of dies and I wanted to make sure I didn’t misplace any of them. I attached them to a magnetic sheet and labeled the different dies so I would remember what each piece would be used for. Now you can be very creative and use the different pieces to create some fun and unique monsters, but in my labeling and organizing I kept everything fairly simple. Next, I just began die cutting….I die cut all of the different pieces in a variety of colors. I ended up with a large pile of monster parts!

Now here comes the fun part, putting the monsters together. I started by die cutting the inside piece of the Slimline Card Series: Frame and Fold Die Set to create my card base. I used a curved die (that I had in my stash) and trimmed off the bottom edge of my card front. Then I just began assembling my monster directly onto my card base. I used liquid glue and just played around with the different pieces to create a fun monster.

Doesn’t this monster just you make you smile? On the inside of my card I stamped Happy Birthday with the Happy Senti-mini Stamp Set. I then used the gift card die included in the Coffee Mug Card Die Set to create my gift holder for the back of my card. I attached the gift card holder directly onto the back of my card panel with a strong glue.

I used my extra pieces and created a second monster.

What do you think? I think this would be a fun project to get your kids involved in. I think they would have fun assembling their own monster and creating their own cards too.

Thanks for joining me today! I will be back soon to share another project with you all.

Dana
