Extra Cheese?!

Hello my card making friends.  Sandy Cogdill here, I am so excited to be the Trinity Stamps blog today to share this fun shaker card featuring the new Extra Cheese stamp and die set.

One of my favorite words is “charcuterie”, so when I say the sentiment with the word as part of the Brie-lliant Sayings stamp set, I knew that I was going to have to put it on a card.

I wanted the background of the card to look like a piece of cheese, so I blended a layer of Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink on a piece of white cardstock.  Using the Cheesy Background Stencil, I inked in some Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink on the openings.

As I was inking the background, I thought that it might be fun to cut in some openings and turn it into a shaker card.  I used the smallest circle dies from the Clean Cut Layers – Circles: Set A to cut a few opening is the upper field of the background.

Once I had the openings cut, I felt like it was too yellow, so I blended in a little Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink on the edges.  I also heat embossed my sentiment using black embossing powder.

While I was making the “wells” on the shaker backing, I realized that I had cut my opening so close to the top of the card, that my foam tape was going to show.  Yikes!  I used a Copic maker to color the foam tape in those areas and luckily you can barely see it one the card is assembled.  I used two layers of foam tape, so I had enough depth for the Shredded Cheddar Sprinkles.  I also added in some Orange Sparkle Spots for glitz.

I cut a piece of acetate to fit the back of the front of the card and adhered it with double sided tape.  I then removed the protective tape on the foam strips and placed the front.

There are so many cute images in the Extra Cheese stamp set, that I wanted to put them all on the card.  However, I settled on just a few.  All the images are colored with Copic markers in the following colors:

Charcuterie Board:  E17. E27, E59

Cracker:  YR20, E21

Yellow Cheese:  Y13, Y15, Y17

Pepper Jack Cheese:  YG61, YG63. YR31, Y17

Swiss:  YR30, YR31

Gouda:  R14, R24, R35, YR30, YR31

Cheeks:  R20, R21

Once these were colored, I used the Extra Cheese dies, to cut them out.  I used a little liquid glue to adhered the images along with a few of the orange sparkle spots on the card.

This was such a fun card to make.  I hope you have found a little inspiration to make a cheesy card of your own.
