Dust For You
Today I have a slimline shaker card made with Trinity Stamps Dust Bunnies stamp & die, Marshmallow Alpha dies, Slimline Stitched Panels & Windows die and the Slimline Card Series Scalloped Panels & Banners die set. The Dust Bunnies are so adorable and I put star sequins “dust” into the windows to pull the whole scene together.
To make the card:
- I first die cut a scalloped panel from Neenah 110 lb solar white cardstock, acetate and white foam with the Slimline Card Series Scalloped Panels & Banners die set and then die cut the same foam and cardstock panels using the windows die from the Slimline Stitched Panels & Windows die. I ink blended tattered rose, antique linen and spun sugar Distress Oxide Inks with my blending buddy brush onto the cardstock panel and window pieces.
- Next I die cut the word “dust” with the Marshmallow Alpha dies out of pink cardstock I had in my stash. I applied glitter paste (Couture Creations in Frosty Dawn) over the letters and let them air dry for a few hours. I have a close-up below so you can see them in their glittery glory!
- I die cut all the images from the Dust Bunnies stamp & die and copic colored them very simply with W00 and W03 (bunnies), (wood post of bed) (bed coverings) (bird dusters). I tried to keep the overall scene to 4 colors so that everything would tie together nicely.
- To put together the shaker card I first adhered the acetate panel to the ink blended outer panel. I adhered the foam panel onto the folded 3.5 inch by 8.5 cardbase, poured the sequins in and then adhered the acetate/outer cardstock panel on top. I then adhered all the images in a way that created a scene. A trick I use when building a scene is to use non-permanent adhesive to put everything into place; once I like the way everything looks, I’ll use permanent adhesive.
That’s it for today- thank you so much for stopping by!
