Bright side – rainbow card(s)

Hi Everyone, Mirella here today. Are you as excited about the most recent release as I am? I was so giddy when I saw what Taniesa had up her sleeve this time! And let me just tell you – the cuteness will just keep on coming! 😉

Today, I want to share with you a happy rainbow card that could be used for various occasions (birthday, just because, encouragement), and there’s also a bonus project at the end!

It’s no secret that I adore Trinity gnomes, and when I saw the adorable Bright Side stamp set, I literally squealed! Not only is the image super cute, but I am also a big fan of sunflowers, and I know a lot of people who love them, too, so this set simply HAD TO BE MINE!

I started with colouring the image with alcohol markers, and die cutting it with the coordinating die set. I turned the flowers into sunflowers, of course, and as for the rest of the image – I went for one of my favourite colour combos of pinks and teals/turquoise. For some additional interest, I added some shimmer to the centres of the sunflowers and the polka dots on the gnome’s hat, and then covered them with Glossy Accents.

I knew I wanted a rainbow background for this cute gnome girl, and found what I was looking for in my patterned paper stash. The vibrant rainbow colours were competing with the image, however, so to make my gnome pop a little bit more, I put her against a smaller panel of plain light blue cardstock – this was perfect to imitate the sky for my little scene. Next, I stamped and die cut the sentiment.

Once I put all the elements together, I decided that I needed a little bit of bling, and to my delight (I mean, it was totally planned, LOL!) – realised that the Unconversationals clay sprinkles come in perfectly matching colours. Yay!

It is a relatively quick card to put together, but I am sure that it will put a smile on any recipient’s face!

And now, for the promised bonus! I wanted to create another rainbow-themed card with this image, but tried to think outside the box a little bit, and this is how this second card was created. It also features a super blingy heart background, which I created using the Layered Heart Stencil set, and A LOT of the Crystalized Unicorn Tears rhinestones. The sentiment comes from the Crafter’s Heart stamp set.

This card was the one I shared during our Instagram hop – if you haven’t hopped along yet, you still have some time – you need to leave comments by the end of August 6th, in order to be eligible to win a prize!

And that’s it for today! Let me know in the comment section if you love the little gnomes as much as I do! Are there any particular gnome scenes that you would like to have added to the Trinity collection?

As always, the full list of supplies used can be found on my personal blog.

See you in two weeks,

Mirella
