Boo!

Hi crafty friends! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Trinity Stamps sharing a sneak peek at one of the new products releasing this Friday. If you love Halloween or scene cards, this is something that will be perfect for you, depending on how you see things!

Today, I’m using the October Night Sky stencil in a traditional way. I started out by creating the moon first, using distress inks and my Blending Buddies. Then I used the positive piece to mask off the moon. I love how the stencil sets come with both the positive and negative pieces so you can use them to help mask. I went in and created a nighttime scene using some blues, purples, and black.

I added a few layers of the trees using black distress oxide ink because I wanted more pigment. I also used the same for the bats. I definitely had to be more careful because pigment inks take a bit longer to dry (oxides have pigment properties). My favorite part of this set to complete the look is the layers of fog. That really just sets the mood.

Because I don’t have many Halloween sets, I pulled out the Marshmallow Alphabet to turn this card panel into an eclipse card. I did cut the letters out three times: one out of the card panel and twice out of black cardstock. Using the word “Boo!” right in the middle of the moon, I thought this completed the Halloween vibe to this card. I normally stay away from Halloween sets, but I think this one can be used for many occasions.

Thanks for stopping by. Make sure you stop by all week for more sneak peeks and the full September release will be on Friday! I hope you also got some inspiration to create! Happy Crafting!
