Bear Blessings Peek-Through Window Card

Hello Trinity friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a peek-through window card to share today. I love to make cards that are just as pretty on the inside as the outside. It’s really great when your focal point can be seen from both panels! My cute bear is a good example of that. For my card, I’m using the following Trinity Stamps products:

Harvest Rainbow Stamp set

Modern Embossed Edge Circle die set

Blessing Bear stamp set and coordinating die set

Bed of Roses Stencil ( I used the leaf layer, only)

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by die cutting the front inside and outside panels using a circle die. I die cut the two stacked together so that I know they will match up perfectly when I assemble the card (See photo below). I set the front interior panel aside for use later. On the front panel, I stenciled the leaves using only the leafy layer of the Bed of Roses Stencil. I like how they look like they are falling! I used Distressed Oxide Inks in Fossilized Amber, Scattered Straw, Forest Moss, Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso along with my Blending Buddy brushes. I used different colors for different clusters of the leafy design. Next, I stamped the leafy wreath around the circle cutout using a dark brown ink.

I used a fine-tip black marker and a white gel pen to add specks on and around the leaves. It gives it a more playful look. Finally, droplets of Pearl Pen in a copper metallic were added to the leaves and leafy wreath for some added color and dimension.

For the Inside of the card, I cut a 5″X 7″ piece of brown cardstock and heat embossed in white, another wreath design using the Harvest Rainbow Stamp set. This time, I chose a stamp that was large enough in size so that it did not show through the circular window. I like to have a little element of surprise inside. 🙂 Like on the front, I stenciled leaves on the background using white Delicata ink so that it would show up on the brown cardstock. It’s a soft look and breaks up the dark brown.

I stamped, colored and die cut the bear. I also die cut a rust cardstock circle, slightly bigger than the window to layer behind the bear. When the card is closed, this circle covers the entire window opening. Once the bear was adhered in place, I stamped in Versamark, and heat embossed in white, the phrase from the Blessing Bear stamp set right below. I added some accent dots around and on the leaves in white using a white ink Gelly Roll pen for accent.

To assemble the card, I cut one piece of white cardstock 5-1/2″ wide and 7″ tall and scored 1/2″ in from one of the long sides (exterior back panel shown above). I sandwiched the 1/2″ “wing” in between the front and front interior window panels and adhered them together to create the folded card base. l used Scor-Tape on the wing on both sides to attach it to the window panels. Lastly, I adhered the brown cardstock interior panel inside the card base to finish the card. This card folds flat and is ready to send in an A7-size envelope.
