Autumn Release sneak peek
Hello my awesome friends! I am back once again with another sneak peek, this time I am showing you a little taste of the upcoming Autumn Release.
Who doesn’t love fall? I know I do!! All of the products that are coming out soon got me so excited for pumpkin everything and halloween.
Alright, for my project today I decided to play with some super cute dies and make a jack o lantern memorydex mini slimline card.
I wanted to make a simple yet striking card to keep in my memorydex holder for future uses or just to keep as a decoration, so I started with two pieces of orange card stock that I had previously cut to be a mini slimline size using the mini slimline die set from Trinity. . I took it one step further by using distress oxide inks to add more depth to one of them.
Once I was happy with my color blending I proceeded to stick both pieces together with low tack tape and placed my dies on it and ran them through my die cutting machine. Having cut both at the same time ensured that the placement of the openings from the dies was in the exact same place for both papers.
I decided to put a thin piece of acetate in between my orange papers and glued them together, in essence making a sandwich with the acetate and the orange card stock. Doing this made my panel be more sturdy.
Next step was to glue a black background behind the orange front to serve as the base of my card and make the die cut openings look black like in a real jack o lantern. I made sure the piece of black card stock was the same exact size as my front.
Next up was a matter of adding embellishments, I chose to go with a mixture of ribbons, twine, and lots of gems from the trinity summer bloom kit. Lastly I punched the memory dex holes using a punch from my stash and my mini slimline card is finished.
I am so happy with how my project came to life. I had the vision of exactly what I wanted to make when I saw these dies and it came out exactly like I thought it.
I can’t wait for you to see the other sneak peeks coming all of next week, you are going to love them all!
Thanks for reading and I will see you all next time!
Very cute idea. I have an old card file drawer from a library and this May be a good project. Thanks for sharing.
