Astronomical Birthday – Tiny Astronaut

Hello, crafters!! Brenda here with an out-of-this-world birthday card to help celebrate Trinity’s 7th birthday!! It may be Trinity’s birthday, but you’re the ones getting the gifts!! There’s a fantastic sale happening NOW through Sunday, so you can pick up some goodies on your wishlist!! (Be sure to checkout the last chance section…the discount is also good on those products!!)

Let’s get to my card for today…

I began by die-cutting all the pieces in the Tiny Astronaut Die Set from dark blue, white, red and two shades of gray cardstock. I adhered them all together using liquid glue, then added highlights with a white gel pen.

For the background, I pressed the Time Warp Letterpress Die onto an A2 panel of dark blue cardstock with metallic silver ink using a BetterPress system. The panel was also splattered with diluted white ink to mimic stars and bring home the outer space feel.

The Crater Layers Stencil and Die Set was used to create the moon. I used the die to cut the top edge only of a panel of white cardstock and blended the stencils onto it using shades of gray die ink and a Blending Buddy. I extended the lines and added more craters with Copic markers, then figured out placement of my astronaut and added shadows under where he would stand.

I thought this sentiment, from the Astronomical Gnomes Stamp Set, fit the astronaut perfectly!! It was stamped onto white cardstock with red dye ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die.

Then it was time to assemble everything. The moon was adhered to the bottom of the letterpressed panel using liquid glue.

The astronaut and the sentiment were popped up with foam tape.

Lots of Oh My Stars Confetti adds even more shine to the background. I added some Glossy Accents to the shield on the helmet and the controls on his belt to finish off the card.

I love how this turned out!! This would be perfect for a little boy’s birthday!!

Thank you so much for spending part of your day with me!! I appreciate your time!! Have a wonderful Thursday!!

PS…Don’t forget to check out the sale in the shop!! Happy birthday, Trinity!!
