Aloha

Sunday has come round again, the weeks go so fast.  Though I didn’t love the heat wave here a few weeks ago, I mourn when summer is over.  Today, I have a fun card to honor some of the many things I love about summer (beaches, family & friends, cold cocktails and watermelon, and sunshine.

I made this card for a friends birthday.  For some reason these character’s remind me of her and her main squeeze.

This week’s card features the Wish You Were Here Stamp and Coordinating Die set.  I stamped them with my Misti and Colored them with my Copics (Y13, 15, 35, 38, YR15, 23, 07, 04, YG17, 25, 11, RV17, 83, 63, B02, 000, E00, 02, 31, 33, 32, 93, G17, 02)  Next, I used some white paper and the Layered Palm Tree Stencil.  I used my blending buddy to make the trees and grass.  I used Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive and Pine Needle for the fronds and Burlap and Espresso for the trunks.  Then I used some Tumbled Glass for the sky and just let it be splotchy.  Then, I cut the beach using some kraft paper and The Great Outdoors Slimline Border. I added this to the base and then cut it out using the scalloped shape from the A7 Envelope Builder.  I stamped my sentiment, mounted my gnomies, and added some white gel pen highlights.

.

These poor dears are getting a bit sunburned!  The need a little SPF so they don’t find themselves in too much pain. 🙂

Here is one last look at this sweet tropical couple.

If you didn’t catch Christine’s fun card this week, take a look, because it looks like we were on the same wave length!  Her’s has a fun interactive bit.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!
