Aloha Gnome!

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Trinity Stamps sharing a card using the Wish You Were Here stamp set. You’ll notice that the image is a bit different than on the stamp set, mainly because I decided this little gnome will be hanging out with himself and his cocktail.

To start off, I stamped the full image of both gnomes. The gnome holding the watermelon is super cute but I just couldn’t fit her on a slimline card. This works really easily since he’s sitting in front of her so I was able to fussy cut him out and remove her.

Then, I wanted to do some quick ink blending to create a beach scene. I masked off the top portion with a straight edge masked and created a quick sunset. That was the easy part. For the beach scene, I blended the inks so it looks like the water is overlapping the sand. You definitely don’t need a perfect transition since the gnome covers up most of it.

To add some details to the water, since I used a water reactive ink, I went in with a wet paintbrush to make those wavy lines. To really add to it, I stippled on some white paint to create the top of the waves. It looks a mess but it does create a fun look to the waters.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!
