You Are My Lucky Charm – create muted effect with vellum

Hi everyone! 

Ilina here! Have you had a card background that you thought the colors were just way to bright for your liking. You can use vellum overlay to create muted effect and soften those colors like I did for today’s card.

I used the My Lucky charm 3 x4″ set along with the Little Charms , also 3 x 4″ set.

To make the card start with a piece of alcohol marker friendly white cardstock that is A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Stamp charms to cover the background with black alcohol marker friendly ink.

 

Color the images using alcohol based markers (I used OLO, but you can use any other brand or even any other coloring medium of your choice, just make sure you use appropriate paper and ink)

Next, cut A2 piece of vellum, stamp sentiment in the center using Versamark ink and emboss in white. 

Adhere over the stamped and colored panel using Crafty Gluefriend liquid adhesive (I added glue only behind the stamped/embossed sentiment so it’s not visible)

Add something heavy on top and let it dry. Next, adhere it to a side folded white card base

Your card is finished.
