Tall Tales: One Stamp, Three Ways with Designer Emily M.

Hi Friends! Emily @popsofpaper here today sharing three reading rainbow themed projects using the adorable 4×8 Tall Tales stamp set from the Autumn Rainbow New Release. The stamps in this set are super long and lean which are great for slimline cards but also the perfect size for bookmarks!

All of the stamped images were colored with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers and fussy cut but there are also coordinating dies that will speed up the fussy cut process. I found the plastic bookmark sleeves from Amazon; they come in a pack of 50 so I have lots of fun bookmarks to make for teacher and student gifts 😀

Rainbow Giraffe Bookmark: I colored the giraffe in all the colors of the rainbow and fussy cut. I cut a piece of white card stock the length of the plastic bookmark sleeve and then I used the Slimline Stripes 6×9 Stencil to create a rainbow stripe background using Distress Oxide Inks and Blending Brushes. For the rainbow tassel, I combined several colors of bakers twine. 

Owl Read All Day Bookmark: I colored the stack of books in rainbow colors and the cute little owl. Then I used the Marshmallow Alphabet Die Set for the READ. I adhered all the pieces together on a white piece of cardstock and then added to the bookmark insert. For the tassel, I used a black and white polka dot ribbon.

Thank you, Teacher for the Excellent Reading Recommendations: This was a really fun card to create and I’m really happy that I could repurpose the slimline size stamps to an A2 size card. First, I stamped several of the book stacks to the white card base. What is SUPER versatile about this stamp is that you can turn the books upside down and it gives you a new set of stacked books. This made me so excited so you can see in the stamping some of the tops are the actual bottom of the stamp. To add the rainbow stripes to the bottom corners of the card, I used the new Slimline Series:Stitched Strips Die Set and then in the final corner I added some skinny washi tape. To complete the card, I added the cute owl to a stack of books, the Thank You, Teacher sentiment strip from the A Sentiment for (almost) Everything Stamp Set and for extra pop shiny star embellishments.
