Stamping Together: Halloween Candy

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! Welcome to Stamping Together; a monthly Mom and Daughter Duo post. One of the best things about stamping and card making, is sharing this creativity with my nine-year old daughter (the Pops of Paper Kiddo). I let the kiddo pick her favorite Trinity Stamp/Crafting Theme for the month and we laugh and giggle our way to a few cards to share with you. We hope you enjoy our creative adventures!

This month, the kiddo picked a Yummy Halloween Candy Theme and we used the following stamps and dies: Candy Jar, Sweet Senti-Mini Dies, 3×4 Autumn Sentiments, Carving Party Pumpkin Embellishments, Avada Kedavra Glitter Confetti Mix

From the Pops of Paper Kiddo

“Sweet Halloween! The first step we did was embossing candies onto a black canvas. After my mom did that I colored in the candies with most of the colors of the rainbow. After I colored in all of the candies My mom die cut a sentiment that said sweetest. After I glued on the black sentiment onto the white sentiment I Embossed sentiment that said official candy inspector. I glued that on right under the sweetest sentiment. Last but not least I put some Nuvo bohemian teal and glow in the dark on the card base.”

*All heat embossing activities completed by the adult kiddo.

A couple more details from the adult kiddo:

The kiddo summed up the process pretty well but here a few more details: We used Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and colored the images with Prisma Colored pencils (Canary Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Yellowed Orange, Orange, Pale Vermillion, Process Red, Parma Violet, Light Aqua, Chartreuse and White).

We combined the Sweet Senti-Mini Dies with sentiments from the  3×4 Autumn Sentiments Stamp Set to create “Sweet Trick or Treat” for my card and “Sweetest Official Candy Inspector” for the kiddo’s card. I thought her sentiment combo was pretty clever—she definitely has this role in our house.

After we completed our first cards, we thought it would be fun to create one more card together. This time we heat embossed Glitter Embossing Powder to the black cardstock canvas. We used Ranger Embossing Powder in Orange and Lime Tinsel. Then we adhered some Carving Party Pumpkin Embellishments and Stars from Avada Kedavra Glitter Confetti Mix. For a little extra pop, we added some Glow in the Dark Nuvo Drops and a Trick or Treat Sentiment Strip. I love all the Halloween Sparkles!

We hope you enjoyed our Halloween Candy Cards today. It’s always a treat creating together and we’re so happy we can share our cards with you! Trick or Treat!
