Stamping Together: Wizards & Friends
Hello Friends and Happy Monday! Welcome to Stamping Together; a monthly Mom and Daughter Duo post. One of the best things about stamping and card making, is sharing this creativity with my nine-year old daughter (the Pops of Paper Kiddo). Each month, the kiddo picks her favorite Trinity Stamps, Dies and Embellishments and then we laugh and giggle our way to create a pair of cards to share with you. We hope you enjoy as we share our stamping adventures with you!
This month, the kiddo picked three Magical sets: Magical Wizards, Magical Sentiments & Magical Sentiment Die Set and Wizard Friends. We also casted a spell on our cards with magical embellishments: Lumos Glitter Confetti Mix and Eye of the Storm Rhinestone Embellishments…both of which are sparkly and gorgeous!
From the Pops of Paper Kiddo
“The first thing I did was stamp Hermoine, Ron, Harry, and Luna. The next thing I did was color the people in with Nuvo and copic markers. I did some blending with Hermoine, Ron, and Lunas hair. I added the sentiment which says ”If you’re Magical and you know it wave your wand. Last I did some embellishments which look like stars.”
A couple more details from the Mom
During and several hours later, we could not stop singing “If you’re Magical and you know…” Her face lit up when she realized the sentiment went together. She fussy cut all of her stamped wand images, did all the coloring with Nuvo Alcohol markers and some Copics that I didn’t realized she snuck over to her side of the craft room. She also diligently adhered all the Magical Lumos Glitter Confetti Mix with Nuvo Deluxe Liquid Adhesive. Her card sparkles in every direction with the Lumos Glitter Confetti.
Have a Magical Birthday
The kiddo also hoarded the Magical Wizards set so I spent my time with the Headmaster and some magical potions. To create the Magical Wizard card, I stamped all the images along the right side of a white card panel with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I colored all the images with Copic colors in bright purples, greens and gray. I added the “spell burst” images after the coloring was complete and then added the prettiest blue rhinestones in the center for a little extra magic. Speaking of Magic, I die cut the Magical sentiment shadow in silver glitter paper and then adhered the Magical Die Cut to the glitter shadow piece. I adhered the die cut Magical to the stamped card panel and then stamped “Have a” and “Birthday” to complete the card.
The kiddo and I both finished our cards by adding the stamped panels to a deep blue card base.
We had so much fun creating these cards together and we hope this post inspires you to create together (with a friend, a kiddo, a partner, etc.). We can’t wait to see you next month! Happy Crafting!
Big Paper Hugs!
