Special Ornaments

Happy Sunday!  Katie here today.  I am feeling behind with all things holiday, how about you?  I still have gifts I’d like to purchase and wrap and I haven’t even mailed one card yet!

Speaking of cards, i have one fun one today featuring some elements old and new.

This fun card was inspired by one of the newest release dies, the Slimline Hanging Ornament Die. I used the concept and the ornament hangers from this die set for this card. Instructions on how I made this below.

I started by die cutting the circles using the Embossed Circle Stack Dies.  I used two different sizes.  Then I used various distress inks (Lemonade, Mustard, Citron, Peeled paint, Festive Berries, Brick, Patina, Peacock) with my Blending Buddy to add color to the circles and set them aside. Next, I stamped various images from the Cozy Christmas Cottage Stamp set and cut them out with the Coordinating Cozy Christmas Cottage Dies. I colored the images with my copics (BG45, BG15, BG10, C7, C5, C1, YG17, YG25, YG11, YR04, R37, R35, R14, E11, E13, E15, G09, G07) and added a few white gel pen highlights.  Then I mounted the appropriate ones on the ornaments using foam tape.  Next, I cut the ornament holders in gold sparkly paper.  I set all of this aside and used red cardstock to cut out the Slimline Striped Frame Panel and mounted it on a white base. Then I came back in and adhered my greenery and ornaments.

I can’t decide which ornament is my fave, but it might be the puppy, he is so cute with his ball (which is really an ornament from the set tucked under him).  Which one is your fave?

I hope that you like it and thank you so much for visiting today!  I hope you have a great rest of the day.

~Katie
