Sending Smiles and Sunshine

Hello Trinity Stamps friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski (@BobbiHartDesign) here with a “thinking of you” card. I always enjoy a card with a hidden feature or surprise inside and my card has that “covered” today, literally! I’m sharing a 5″ X 7″ window card with an interactive slide out panel. When pulled out, the panel reveals a hidden message.

I’m using the following Trinity Stamps products:

Moonlit Town Cutout Die (window opening)

Slimline Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood stamp set and coordinating die set (truck, sun, clouds)

Simply Sentimental – You stamp set (“Thinking of You”)

Simply Sentimental – Hello stamp set (“sunshine,” “I hope you’re doing well”)

Papercrafting Magic stamp set (“Pull”)

Slimline Doodle Garden stamp set (“sending smiles,” smile faces)

On the outside of this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Moonlit Town Cutout Die to create the window opening from Neenah 80lb cardstock. I also added a little sun and the delivery truck from the set, Slimline Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood stamp set and coordinating die set. I colored the sun using Copics in Y19, Y17 and Y13 and the truck in B05, B02, B00, B000, Y17, BV000, BV00, 100, C09, C06, C3 and C1. I wanted the truck to be a sunshine delivery truck so I stamped the sun and the word “sunshine” on the truck. I hand wrote “Co.,” an abbreviation for the word “company.”

Four panels make up this 5″ X 7″ card with a hidden reveal window.

Next, I created the sliding window panel (panel B above). I cut a piece of cardstock that would cover the window opening and blended Distressed Oxide Ink on it using four colors – Black Soot, Stormy Sky, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass. After it was completely dry, I stamped in Versamark ink and embossed using white embossing powder, the “thinking of you” phrase from the Simply Sentimental – You stamp set. I made sure to position the phrase right in the middle of the window opening.

I also created a half circle cutout on the right side of the front panel and positioned the “pull” word in the area and embossed it on the sliding panel.

When the panel is pulled out, a beautiful rainbow is revealed along with a phrase. To create this colorful panel, I cut a 7″ long rainbow piece from one of the pattern papers from the Slimline Brights – Rainbow Pad. I attached the piece to the top of the front panel of a 5″ X 7″ card base (C above). The 3/4″ “pull” tab cut out on the right side was punched out and the “sending smiles” from the Slimline Doodle Garden stamp set and “sunshine” from the Simply Sentimental – Hello stamp set were embossed. I used a white pen to add the “and” to connect the phrases.

On the back of the front window panel, I added foam adhesive to raise the panel from the card base. This will give the “thinking of you” sliding panel (panel B) room, to slide freely.

Using a 5″ X 7″ piece (panel D), I stamped the “I hope you’re doing well” phrase from the Simply Sentimental – Hello stamp set. Above the phrase, I stamped the sun and two clouds from the Neighborhood set. I colored them using the same colors used on the front panel (listed above.) I attached the insert to the inside of the card base to complete the card.
